Well, am a journalism student at USIU-Africa . Essentially, the reason I love football so much is that it is a very simple, blank canvas. The players are afforded maximum freedom to perform the very simple task of getting a ball into a net. But so many amazing players and managers have painted that canvas in so many different ways. There's an infinite number of ways to play great football, and the game will continue to evolve for decades to come. And through this simple game, there have been towns and boroughs and portions of cities that now identify themselves based on their local club. People all over the world fall in love with a club, and develop communities and friendships purely based on their loyalty to the sport and their team. During the biggest matches, the entire world seems to stop everything else and just sit down to focus on 90 minutes of entirely unpredictable drama.
It's really a perfect expression of many of the greatest parts of life: freedom, beauty, and passion.
